December 2 Native Instruments Releases SCARBEE JAY-BASS!
Today Native Instruments released SCARBEE JAY-BASS that is derived from the acclaimed Scarbee Red Bass library.

Registered Red Bass users can now download a Kontakt 3.5/Kontakt 4 update that will transform it into an identical version of Scarbee Jay-Bass including new graphics and new manual.
NOTE: While the update content is identical, the Scarbee products still must be played using the Full Version of Kontakt 3 or 4.
New Features and changes:
Human Vibrato using Modwheel or Aftertouch. Vibrato based on real performance.
Player profile - alters the auto string selection depending on musical style.
Position keys moved 1 octave up.

We therefor suggest you to join the Native Instruments forum and discuss the Scarbee sounds there - it makes sense as within the nest 8 months all our products will be released by NI.

An update for Red Bass is now online. It fixes an issue with samples getting cut off in some situations.
August 17 Kontakt 3.5 update for Edgy Electric Piano and Funky Electric Piano!
An update for Edgy Electric Piano and Funky Electric Piano that fixes some issues with Kontakt 3.5 is now available for registered users in our support section.
Classic Electric Piano and sticky Electric Piano are unaffected by Kontakt 3.5 update so no update is necessary for these sounds.
There is an update for Vintage Keyboard Collection, Edgy Electric Piano and Funky Electric Piano.
July 27 Native Instruments Announces Partnership with Scarbee

I'm very happy to announce this new adventure for Scarbee. In the last year I've been looking for a way to be able to focus more on creating sounds for you and do less of the business part and with the new partnership with Native Instruments I have found the perfect solution.
Not only will I now spend all my time on the stuff that I'm best at - I'm also receiving a lot of inspiration and valuable advice from all of my new colleages and friends at NI.
In the next 9 months all Scarbee products will be successively relaunched as self-contained instruments that will be maintained and distributed by Native Instruments.
However current and future Scarbee customers will be offered free updates of the sample libraries - including all new graphics and features! This is very important for us that you can safely buy Scarbee products during the transition.
As an example: You own Scarbee Blue Bass sample library. NI releases a new version as a Virtual Instrument with a new name, new features and graphics. We upload an updated .nki (program) + additional samples + .tga (wallpaper) - free for existing customers. As you already own Kontakt 3 the difference to the Virtual Instrument version will be ZERO. It will be exactly same version. You will NOT be offered the VI version - but no need since versions are identical.
FAQ Q: I would like to purchase Blue Bass but I don't own Kontakt or plan to buy it. Will I be eligible as a Scarbee customer for the free NI virtual instrument update so that I will be able to use this library?
A: No. You will only be offered an update of the sample library with same features and graphics as the NI virtual Instrument. So you still need your Kontakt 3.

NAMM Show 2009, Anaheim - January 17 SCARBEE join forces with Alicia Keys to create virtual piano
American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, pianist, producer and actress Alicia Keys and Scarbee, have joined forces and created a virtual piano software with the obvious name: Alicia's Keys!
In late summer Alicia, Grammy Award winning engineer Ann Mincielli and Thomas Hansen Skarbye (Scarbee) set out on a quest to create a virtual piano of Alicia's favourite piano - recorded in the Oven Studios in NY.
By using the premium vintage microphones and preamps and carefully analyzing Alicias playing we succeded in getting a very warm, soulful and inspiring sound - fun to play.
Together with Kontakt script wizard Nils Liberg and through advanced programming and editing we have been able to recreate the action and tonal behaviour into what is almost a carbon copy of the piano.
