JamieSEA says about SCARBEE CLASSIC EP-88S:
“I fell in love with Scarbee’s original Mark I Rhodes and JUST when you thought it couldn’t get any better... BAM! Thomas does it AGAIN! This masterpiece of a Rhodes has now taken my compositions to a whole new level. As a solo improvisational artist, I'm coming up with improvs that are unlike anything I have done before.

Thanks Thomas for the years of hard work you put in to giving keyboardists around the world your very best!

BIO

JamieSEA (aka SEA) was born James P. Crist in Ann Arbor, Michigan. JamieSEA started playing piano at the age of two. “I remember the story of how my father overheard my ten-year-old brother playing the piano. He was shocked to see it was his two-year-old who could barely touch the keys playing! My mother also told me she was praying for a special child the night I was born. I guess you’ve got to be careful what you pray for because you might just get it! LOL!”

Jamie started piano lessons at the age of five, and at the ages of fifteen & sixteen, he attended Interlochen Arts Academy’s summer program near Traverse City, Michigan. “It was there I decided I wanted to be the best I could be. Many kids younger than me could play circles around me, so I knew I needed to get to work!”

At the age of seventeen, JamieSEA was said to be the # 1 up-and-coming jazz pianist in Ann Arbor. “I always had a passion for solo improvisation. Jazz artists like Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, & Thelonious Monk were a major influence on me. On the Rock/R&B side, artists like Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman were two of my favorites, along with Elton John, Steve Winwood, Stevie Wonder, Joe Sample, Billy Preston, Dr. John, Smokey Robinson, AL Green and others.”

Although JamieSEA loves solo improv, over the years he's become one of the most diverse multigenre artists, producing music ranging from Jazz, Rock, Fusion, EDM, R&B, Pop, Contemporary, Folk, you name it. He attributes it to the thirty-plus years of being a studio keyboardist and nightly entertainer in the Detroit Metropolitan area. “I had to learn all styles. When performing I did everything from the 1940s through today, so I had to be diverse. When I sing R&B I sound a bit like Philip Bailey and Eddie Kendricks.” One of SEA's favorite styles is the older Latin Bossa Novas. “I love Antonio Carlos Jobim (Wave, Girl from Ipanema, Brazil, to name a few) and I have adopted these classic styles into my more modern compositions that I feel is much needed in today’s music.”

From 1980 thru 1985, SEA worked with Rick & Rob Stawinski of DD&B in the industrial films/corporate video industry, and was involved in the music production of multiple award-winning original soundtracks that received several gold and silver awards from both the prestigious International Film and TV Festival of NY and the Information Film Producers of America.

For over four decades JamieSEA has dedicated his life to use his talents to help others by working with non-profit organizations and communities to create awareness about poverty, feed the homeless, and bring attention to other humanitarian causes. Currently SEA and his wife Nadine are working on building a record label that donates 50% of its revenue to those trying to make a difference. “What's the point of being given such a great talent just to make money? Why not work with those who have a vision to help others and make the world a better place for everyone to live?”

JamieSEA also has been working on an expansion pack for Scarbee's Classic Eps 88, and a portion of the funds raised by the sales will be used to help those in need.

“The expansion pack will cost $5.95 and will have around 30 custom patches!”

"It has that sound - that until now - has never been perfectly duplicated. The first time I played it - I sat there for over 2 straight hours in amazement. You can nicely tweak it to create all kinds of nuances.. Thank You Thomas!
You’ve created a masterpiece that will be showing up on the music I create in the future.”

“For years now my no1 Rhodes has been the Scarbee Mark 1. Bar none. There was just nothing else that came even close. Well now he has out done himself again with the new EP-88! It’s a whole new flavor of Scarbee perfection you have to just experience to believe. Just get it and you can thank me later!”

Featuring idiosyncrasies like bass tine twang and damper pedal noise, there's no virtual Rhodes more realistic than the EP-88s.
