Bill Sharpe from Shakatak joins Artist lounge!
"My days of carrying round my heavy electric pianos are long gone now i'm using the great sounds from Scarbee. No more tuning and broken tines!", says Bill.
In 1980, along with Keith and Roger and producer Nigel Wright, Bill formed Shakatak. They toured the UK extensively during the early eighties and signed with Polydor records. In 1982 they had their first top 20 hit with "Easier said than done", one of the hits that he wrote for the band. Others include "Night Birds","Invitations", "Dark is the Night", "Down on the Street" and "Mr Manic and Sister Cool".
In 1983, international success began for the band in Europe, America and particularly in Japan where "Night Birds" became one of the biggest selling international albums of all time.
As the band's success continued through the 80's, Bill released his first solo album "Famous People" in 1985. One song on the album featured Gary Numan. Called "Change your Mind" , it became a top 20 hit and also heralded the start of a successful collaboration with Gary under the name of "Sharpe and Numan". Read more

Black Bass reviewed in Sound & Recording
Reviewer Hans-Joerg Scheffler has written a very positive review of Black Bass in german magazine Sound & Recording:
"Black Bass not only sounds exceedingly good, but it also lets you play extremely intuitively without too much use of keyswitches on the MIDIkeyboard. No other bass library allows organic sounding implementation of bass lines on a keyboard to this extent. Play easily - the script takes care of the rest.He also have created small audio demos of the bass playing - we are very grateful!!

"The last Scarbee library we reviewed was his Vintage Keys Gold bundle (9-10/05), about which I commented that this is what sampling technology is all about. Scarbee Imperial drums XL is in the same league. At 4300 it's a no-brainer.", says reviewer Nick Batzdorf.
